The Beatrice P1 is a single-channel handset.
The user of the handset on the P1 can listen to one audio channel from the network and send one audio channel to the network. Depending on how the Dante network has been routed, the incoming and outgoing audio circuits can be in different locations, and the outgoing circuit can be routed to multiple locations.
The audio to/from the handset is automatically switched on when the handset is picked up and switched off when the handset is replaced.
The Beatrice P1 unit is fully compatible with devices from other manufacturers that use the Dante protocol.
